Tipster evaluation should start with evidence, prices and record quality—not confidence or promotional language.

Start with the record

Record every selection, advised stake, advised odds, result and return. A strike rate alone says little without the prices taken. A high win rate can coexist with poor value, while a lower win rate can still be profitable if prices compensate for the losses.

Check whether the evidence is usable

Ask how large the sample is, whether losing runs are visible, whether the stated odds were available to ordinary followers, and whether the record includes all selections. Separate independently checkable information from claims made by the seller.

Cost and practical fit

A subscription has to be considered separately from betting returns. Delivery time, available bookmakers or exchanges, bet frequency and the time you can realistically devote to following selections all affect whether a service is practical.
